The first thing you need to do is clear the area that you are going to have your garden in. Mow the place and then level it. You can also make your garden on hard surfaces but you will need to lay down some organic material to cushion it first. Some of the materials you can use include leaves and barks.
It is important to surround your garden with a border made of rocks, planks, logs or bricks. The border should be about 10 inches. Put some hay on the area and add some organic fertilizer on top of it. The organic fertilizer can be sheep, cow, chicken or horse manure. Once the fertilizer is in place, you can add some loose straw and then add about 4 inches of compost. After the compost is added, you need to water the entire garden but make sure it does not soak. The garden is now ready for planting.
